I noticed another bumper sticker that kind of frosted my corn flakes, “Parent of a (enter the name of your breed of dog).”
Kind of like, wait a minute, did you give birth to a dog, cat, bird, horse or what ever? I keep all sorts of animals out here on the farm, some are pets, some work, some are for eating and others are just for being. But I am not their parents, nor is any human. On the lists I see fids, bappies, parronts and such every day. Kind of degrading to both the animals involved and the children (human) of the world.
I raised two children, now am grandparent to one. They are my babies. My animals might be my friends, might even be companions, even co-workers and on occasion food. I honor them for what they are, I respect them for what they give me, I even love a couple of them, but they are not human-never will be.
